The LLLPlatform welcomes the European guidelines for validating non-formal and informal learning, aimed at individuals and institutions responsible for the initiation, development, implementation and operation of validation arrangements, a key topic of the Platforms daily work, such asrecently published study co-edited with the Bertelsmann Stiftung. The ambition of these guidelines is to clarify the conditions for implementation, highlighting the critical choices to be made by stakeholders at different stages of the process. This second edition of the European guidelines is the result of a two-year process involving a wide range of stakeholders active invalidation at European, national and/or sectoral levels, such as the LLLPlatform. The guidelines were at the heart of the Policy debate on Validation of non-formal learning held in July 2015.
