The Digital Assembly 2012 (see the broadcast soon here) is one of the major events of the year, assessing progress for the Digital Agenda and gathering stakeholders to reflect upon the key challenge of access to the digital era for EU citizens. EUCIS-LLL attended the plenary session of 22 June where Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission, stated that we needed to speed up the work to fill the skills gap and create jobs. Digital skills are especially crucial since it is foreseen that 90% of jobs will require digital skills by 2020. Besides, the discussions underlined several times the need for entrepreneurship skills and appreciation among young people, what is cruelly lacking in Europe compared to other regions of the world.
