On 31 January 2017, Europeana (EUROCLIO) and Goteo launched a joint match funding program to co-fund up to three creative educational projects. Both organisations have been working together since 2014, designing services including co-creation, agile collaborative development and crowdfunding for re-user communities and content holders.
Do you know about any fascinating educational project using cultural content? Reach out to your communities and spread the word about this funding opportunity!
What’s match funding?
In match funding, an institution makes a sum available to develop a specific area (culture, education, etc), then calls the community to submit projects in this area and appeals to the general public to pledge money. The crowd supports a specific project by making small fund donations that the institution matches with the same amount.
Who can apply?
Eligible projects must be digital, use Europeana openly licensed content as a central element and be relevant to a secondary education audiences (pupils 11-18 years and teachers in this educational tier). Organisers accept applications for both formal and informal secondary education. The projects can vary from digital applications, MOOCs, e-books, to documentaries or other creative digital learning tools.
