This Sunday, European school students will once again mark International Students’ Day that commemorates the students repression of Prague in 1939. School student organisations and school student unions across Europe will reiterate their demands for a fairer school system. OBESSU (the Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions) in particular calls for the universal recognition of school student rights and demands that: all fees and hidden costs of school are abolished; equal status is given to vocational education; and schools across Europe are run democratically (see press release).
