The European Distance and E-learning network (EDEN) opens registration for its conference on the joy of learning and open e-learning with Sugata Mitra, winner of the TEDPrize 2013, as keynote speaker. E-learning, open and distance education have been increasingly important fields of intellectual excitement and innovative development. Reckoning that the best teachers and schools don’t exist where they’re needed most, education scientist Sugata Mitra launched a series of real-life experiments from New Delhi to South Africa to Italy, giving kids self-supervised access to the web. The results could revolutionize how we think about teaching.
