In a Press Release on 22 March, the European parliament CULT Committee call for the new European Solidarity Corps to have its own budget and not be funded at the expense of the Erasmus+ or Europe for Citizens programmes. “Offering young people an opportunity to take part in solidarity schemes all over Europe would help them to gain experience for future long-term jobs,” they add. The LLLPlatform welcomes the Parliament’s position in light of its November 2016 opinion. The European Solidarity Corps Stakeholder Forum will take place in Brussels on 12 April 2017.
