This year, the LLLWeek will be held entirely online! Come online and discuss with us “Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Societies” with MEPs, representatives fo the European institutions, civil society organisations, practitioners and other education stakeholders!

To kick-start the LLLWeek 2020, we invite you to discover the Lifelong Learning Platform and our initiatives in an all-around event. Conjugating the Annual Conference and the launch event of the LLLWeek, we will also celebrate the LLLAwards and the 15th birthday of LLLP with a message by Commissioner Gabriel.

But change-making, active citizenship, leadership and youth participation are not to be improvised: civil society organisations can help untap the potential of young people as real change-makers.

The Digital Education Action Plan has gained further momentum through the COVID-19 pandemic as schools had to suddenly transfer from presence teaching to distance learning. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a big impact on the implementation of mobility programmes throughout Europe. How are current programmes being affected? What will count as a mobility period? What about students staying in their home country and enrolling in online courses at their host universities? What about students going to their host country but can only enrol in online classes?

GreenComp, alongside DigiComp and LifeComp, would be an indispensable addition to provide Europe with a green competence framework for a sustainable future. Reiterating the words of Ursula von der Leyen on the matter, this session aims to offer a short-lived platform to discuss the ways in which Europe can use this unprecedented opportunity (COVID-19 recovery phase) to transform and rebuild education structures and the economy towards more resilient futures.

The pandemic revealed stark inequalities and societal failures in protecting people which represent the main focus of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. However, only by acknowledging the role of education in changing the narrative surrounding SDGs, the strategy to achieve a sustainable society – in its social, economic and environmental dimensions – namely in the European Green Deal, can be achieved.
