What is the role of peer review in the validaton of non-formal and informal adult education? How should the validation systems be further developed in Europe? These questions will be covered in the upcoming final conference of the Peer review VNFIL extended project organised by EAEA on 13 June.
“EAEA sees validation as a key tool in order to promote lifelong learning, to ensure more flexible learning pathways, to encourage learners and build their self-confidence as well as to create a more comprehensive understanding of competences. Sometimes validation is considered as a shortcut, but I strongly believe it is a second chance that will benefit a lot of people,” says Francesca Operti, EAEA project manager.
The VNFIL Stakeholders Meeting on Peer Review will offer a chance to hear about the Peer review VNFIL extended project results and to debate current trends and opportunities for peer review in validation.
”The event will not only be an occasion to learn more about the added-value of peer review for the quality assurance and advancement of VNFIL systems in Europe, but also to discuss the last developments of VNFIL policies with key stakeholders,” Francesca Operti says.
”The group discussions at the event will be an opportunity to debate the current challenges, share innovative ideas and collect recommendations for the panel discussion that will follow.”
The event is organised jointly with the LLLP validation task force and will be closed by a networking reception. The event will take place in Brussels on the 13th of June 2018 at 15.00. It will be organised back to back the European Commission’s festival on validation of non-formal and informal learning (14-15/06/2018) and at the same venue. The Validation Festival is a two-day conference addressed to VNFIL experts, providers and policy-makers from all over Europe.
